Declaration of Faith of NEW LIFE Church of the Nazarene

In the essential beliefs - We have unity

"There is One Body and One Spirit...there is One Lord, One faith One baptism, and One God and Father of us all...  Ephesians 4:4-6
In the non-essential beliefs - We have liberty

"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master, he stands or falls...So then each of us will be an account of himself to God...So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God." Romans 14: 1, 4, 12, 22
In all our beliefs - we show charity.

"...If I hold in my hand not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all." I Corinthians 13:2

We Believe in one God - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We Believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures were inspired by God and contain all truth necessary for our Christian living.
We Believe that all people are born inclined to sin.
We Believe that a continued life of sin leads to being hopelessly and eternally lost.

We Believe that Jesus Christ made it possible for the entire human race to live eternally in heaven.   And anyone that repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved from the dominion of sin.
We Believe that all believers are to be filled with the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ.
We Believe that the Holy Spirit confirms both our salvation and our being filled with the Holy Spirit.

We Believe that Jesus will return someday and there will be a final judgment.
Seven Reasons to Visit NEW LIFE Church of the Nazarene

There are many excellent churches in our area.  Finding the one that fits your comfort zone will take time and effort but will provide a bounty of blessings once you locate it.  Finding a church home might change your life!  We would like to suggest seven reasons you should visit New Life Church of the Nazarene!

1) It's a fresh start

Many of us wish we had the opportunity to make a fresh start -- to discover a place where we are accepted and can develop and grow. Perhaps you went to church in the past and have gotten out of the habit.  If it's time for you to jump back in, the New Life Church is ready to assist you in that fresh start.  You will find people like yourself who are discovering and growing.

2) Warmth

We love each other and we will love you too!  We believe the church should be a place of haven -- of peace, and harmony.

3) Conviction

We hold certain truths to be non-negotiable truths that have been held precious by genuine Christians through the ages. We are unashamed to declare our fidelity to the Word of God.  At the same time, we understand the impossibility of unanimity on all points of peripheral doctrine.  In these gray areas, we maintain that we do not have to be twins to be brothers and invite all to visit with us.

4) We're Contemporary

Our church is designed to meet the needs of the twenty-first century. We have planned an atmosphere in which you will feel free to invite friends.  One word people will use to describe our services is "casual" -- enough structure to insure order but coupled with a freedom that most folks tell us they really enjoy.

5) Commitment

We are committed to several things -- distinctive -- about which we feel strongly.  We are dedicated to Biblical truth to guide us in all things.  Second, we are committed to world evangelization.  Missions occupy one of our highest priorities. Thirdly, we emphasize fellowship and community.  We take every opportunity to spend time together. Our people are friendly and eager to get to know you -- many of us are your neighbors.

6) We're People Oriented

Our church wants to serve.  The church is not an organizational hierarchy.  It is not a building or place - the church is people!  Some words that describe our people: Authentic, Friendly, Warm, Open, Accessible, Loving.  It is our desire to raise up a congregation whose young people honor the Lord and their parents.  Years from now, infants and toddlers cared for in our nursery will probably not remember what they were taught there.  They will remember, however, if it was a positive experience.  They will remember if they liked it.  Our nursery and youth leaders have it as their highest priority to make sure they do!  Our children's and youth ministries may be exactly the spiritual start to which your children will respond.

7) Dynamic

We're alive, excited, and ready for you!  We believe that you will be blessed by our music, instructed in the Word, and loved into our fellowship.  Come and experience the freshness and vitality of the New Life Church.

Our Values

We Are a Christian People

As members of the Church Universal, we join with all true believers in proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ and in embracing the historic Trinitarian creedal statements of Christian faith. We value our Wesleyan-Holiness heritage and believe it to be a way of understanding the faith that is true to Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience.

We Are a Holiness People

God, who is holy, calls us to a life of holiness. We believe that the Holy Spirit seeks to do in us a second work of grace, called by various terms including "entire sanctification" and "baptism with the Holy Spirit"-cleansing us from all sin, renewing us in the image of God, empowering us to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves, and producing in us the character of Christ. Holiness in the life of believers is most clearly understood as Christlikeness.
We Are a Missional People

We are a sent people, responding to the call of Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to go into all the world, witnessing to the Lordship of Christ and participating with God in the building of the Church and the extension of His kingdom (Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 6:1). Our mission (a) begins in worship, (b) ministers to the world in evangelism and compassion, (c) encourages believers toward Christian maturity through discipleship, and (d) prepares women and men for Christian service through Christian higher education.
